The event is the perfect warm up for the spring race season and runners can choose from three distances: a chip timed circular half marathon, a 10K run or a 5K run.    All runners will depart from Cornwallis Academy and will set off in stages.

Families and younger runners can take part in the special 1k Family fun run.

All runners will receive a special finishers medal.

Book before 12 February 2023 to take advantage of early bird rates.

Hospice volunteers and marshals will be on hand along the routes to make sure the event runs smoothly and safely as runners enjoy the routes along country roads around Linton, Boughton Monchelsea and surrounding villages.

Head of Community Partnership at Heart of Kent Hospice Sarah Bowes said. “We can’t wait to welcome runners of all ages and abilities to our next Maidstone Road Run on 5 March 2023.  This popular annual event is one of the most important fundraising events for the Hospice and regularly attracts over 500 runners, many of whom have a personal reason for taking part or have a running goal they want to achieve.”

About Heart of Kent Hospice

Heart of Kent Hospice has been providing free, compassionate, end-of-life care to people living with a terminal illness and their loved ones in Maidstone, Aylesford, Tonbridge and Malling and the surrounding towns and villages for the past 32 years.

The Hospice has built an excellent reputation within the local community for the quality of its care, which has been further endorsed by the Care Quality Commission who awarded us with an overall rating of ‘Outstanding’ following an inspection in February 2017.

Our vision is for everyone living with a terminal illness in our community to achieve the best quality of life. We are committed to achieving this by enabling them to live in comfort, with independence and dignity to the end of their lives, and to support those closest to them.

Last year the Hospice cared for over 1,800 patients and their families in their own homes or at our Aylesford-based Hospice. Our services cost £5 million a year to run, and we depend heavily on our loyal community of supporters, whose generous donations and fundraising activities raise over £4 million.
