Take to the Skies and Wing Walk for charity with Heart of Kent Hospice

Categories: Fundraising.

Do something amazing this year and take to the skies on top of a Boeing Stearman at Headcorn Aerodrome near Ashford in Kent, in aid of Heart of Kent Hospice.

This is your chance to unleash your inner daredevil and experience an exhilarating adrenaline rush as you fly at 80-110 miles per hour and tackle a series of flypasts, zoom climbs and dives in front of your family and friends – it is an amazing experience and one you will never forget!

Choose a day between March and October 2022 or join fellow Heart of Kent Hospice Wing Walkers for a dedicated day on Saturday 16 July 2022. With your feet back on the ground, the money you raise will support the continued work of the Hospice.

Emma Greenwood, Hospice Supporter said: “Taking to the skies while standing on the top of a plane was one of the most amazing experiences I have ever had. You simply felt like you were flying, I would recommend it to anyone, I loved it! A massive thank you to the team at Heart of Kent Hospice and The Wing Walk Company for giving me a memory I will never forget.”

Registration Fee: £50 and everyone taking part needs to raise a minimum sponsorship amount of £700.

Once signed up, you will receive a welcome email, fundraising tips and advice, regular updates from the Hospice Fundraising Team, a bespoke ‘I took to the skies’ t-shirt and unlimited support before, during and after your Wing Walk.

About the Hospice:
Heart of Kent Hospice has been providing free, compassionate, end-of-life care to people living with a terminal illness and their loved ones in Maidstone, Aylesford, Tonbridge and Malling and the surrounding towns and villages for the past 31 years.

The Hospice has built an excellent reputation within the local community for the quality of our care, which has been further endorsed by the Care Quality Commission who awarded us with an overall rating of ‘Outstanding’ following an inspection in February 2017.

Our vision is for everyone living with a terminal illness in our community to achieve the best quality of life. We are committed to achieving this by enabling them to live in comfort, with independence and dignity to the end of their lives, and to support those closest to them.

Last year the Hospice cared for over 1,700 patients and their families in their own homes or at our Aylesford-based Hospice. Our services cost £5 million a year to run and we depend heavily on our loyal supporters, whose generous donations and fundraising activity account for £3 out of every £4 spent on our services.
