The 2017 Big Get Together Fundraising Campaign

Categories: Community Engagement.

Hospices in the southeast are inviting all UK hospices to get involved with The Big Get Together campaign in 2017.  Following a successful pilot by 13 hospices in 2016, this community fundraising campaign is now open to all UK hospices.  Launching in the summer and open until Christmas, The Big Get Together provides a platform for local hospices to ask their own supporters to hold a social fundraising event of their choice.

In 2016, the campaign proved to be a great opportunity for in-memoriam fundraising and also a good offer to midnight walk ladies.  The campaign raised £35,000 overall in the first year and through evaluation and learning, participating hospices expect to raise substantially more in 2017.

One of the 2016 consortium members, St Wilfrid’s Hospice, said ‘A really well organised campaign that it has been a pleasure to be involved with.’

All participating hospices receive a local marketing blueprint, all the fundraising materials you could possibly need plus full use of the campaign’s central website and social media.  Materials include a money box, folder, leaflets, flyers and posters – some materials are campaign branded and others such as the poster and flyer can be hospice branded.  All supporter registration data goes through the central campaign website and each hospice then logs on via Active to collect their own registrations, steward supporters and collect funds directly.  All funds raised go directly to each hospice.

A small fee is payable to the consortium to join the campaign in 2017 and access all materials and assets (the fee level will be decided in March/April when hospice participation numbers are known).  To find out more, check out the campaign website and social media and get in touch with Jo Goddard at St Barnabas House hospice in Sussex.
