Greenwich and Bexley Community Hospice provides specialist free care to local people with life limiting illnesses and their families, both at the Hospice and in the local community. With around a third of our income coming from the government we must raise over £4 million from the local community through individual supporters, businesses and community groups each year.
We are seeking to recruit a Trusts and Statutory Fundraiser to research, secure and maximise income from trusts, lottery and statutory sources for the Hospice.
A key part of the role for 2013/14 will be to further develop and complete a current £2.4m Capital Appeal for a three-floor extension to expand our services and to enable further delivery of high quality care to all who need it. To date we have £1.4m of funding secured and require someone to motivate, resource and secure further donations to achieve the income target within the required deadline.
With a degree level education, the successful candidate will have experience of working in a trust/statutory fundraising role, and significant proven success in generating income from trusts, foundations and statutory sources. With a track record of securing major grants in excess of £50,000, you will have a good understanding of the principles of customer service and have a record of sound working relationships with heads of departments and funders.
With strong communication and report writing skills, you will have a sound understanding of working within a palliative care setting. With energy and motivation, you will be used to working on your own initiative to manage your workload to meet deadlines and targets.
Experience in the use of a fundraising database such as Raiser’s Edge would be beneficial.
This is an exciting time to be joining such an important local charity and an opportunity to make a real difference within the communities of Greenwich and Bexley.
If you feel that your experience matches the skills and the criteria required for this role, then we want to hear from you.
