Workshop for Hospice Caldicott Guardians in data protection and information sharing

Hospice UK will be running two one-day interactive workshops for hospice Caldicott Guardians (CG) facilitated by experts of Information Governance.

The workshops will provide an opportunity for Caldicott Guardians working in Hospices to examine the implications of Information Governance for the sector and how individual hospices can demonstrate compliance.

Aim: The workshops aim to provide an opportunity for hospice Caldicott Guardians to examine the implications of Information Governance for the sector and how individual hospices can evidence compliance.

By the end of the event participants will: 

  • understand the Caldicott Guardian role including what is expected of them
  • have  advice and guidance on fulfilling that role;
  • know what to consider before sharing information and have clarity on the rights of the individual when dealing with Subject Access Requests;
  • have confidence in what compliance looks like.

    Speakers details: These workshops will be facilitated by a team from Baker, Lomax and Shackley Limited, experts in information compliance in the UK Public Sector with over 50 years’ worth of experience in public, private, police, NHS and regulatory organisations.

    Sandra Lomax – Baker, Lomax and Shackley

    Sandra is a member of the UK Council of Caldicott Guardians and has been a Caldicott Guardian for Adult Social Services for 2 years. Until recently she was Assistant Director of Information Assurance at a large city council where she established multi agency data sharing and culture change in all aspects of information management. 

    Gary Baker – Baker, Lomax and Shackley

    Gary is a recently retired Police Superintendent. An experienced police commander and an accredited police Senior Information Risk Owner (SIRO), he has been the senior decision-maker in high profile police enquiries involving police information-rights and disclosure.

    Who should attend?

    These workshops will be of interest  hospice personnel who have strategic or operational responsibility for Information governance or are Caldicott Guardians. They are open to members and non members (higher fee applies) of  Hospice UK.

    Members: £110.00 plus VAT (Total £132.00)
    Non members: £165.00 plus VAT (Total (£198.00)
