We Honor Veterans is a program of the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization, created in collaboration with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.  On Thursday, June 25, from 3:00 – 4:30pm ET, WHV is offering a free webinar.

WHV and VA Trauma-Informed Care Webinar.

This webinar is part of the ongoing collaboration Between WHV and the Department of Veterans Affairs to improve the care of Veterans on hospice that have been impacted by trauma. Faculty for this program will feature: Kandyce Powell, Executive Director of Maine Hospice Council and Center for End of Life Care, and Carol A. Luhrs, MD, Director, National VA GEC Implementation Center and Chief of Hematology/Oncology, Brooklyn Campus, VA-New York Harbor HCS.  The faculty will explore trauma-informed care that is Veteran-focused.

We Honor Veterans empower hospices and community organizations to meet the unique needs of America’s Veterans and their families by offering guidance and resources focused on respectful inquiry, compassionate listening, and grateful acknowledgment so that Veterans can be guided toward a more peaceful ending.
