Covering a 70KM radius, including Uasin Gishu County and neighboring regions such as Trans Nzoia, Western Kenya, Elgeyo Marakwet, and Nandi County, the hospice ensures that patients receive care in the comfort of their homes.

Home visits, conducted three times a week, provide patients with pain management, counseling, and holistic support, emphasizing the importance of a familiar and comfortable environment in palliative care.

   

Key Monthly Activities at Eldoret Hospice

To enhance service delivery and ensure continuous care, Eldoret Hospice runs a series of structured activities aimed at improving patient outcomes:

Home-Based Care (Monday, Wednesday, Friday): The hospice team visits patients at home, offering medical support, pain management, and counseling.

Hospital Visitation (Tuesdays): Conducting ward rounds at Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital (MTRH) to provide palliative support and consultations.

Counseling and Self-Help Support Sessions (Thursdays): Patients and their families participate in guided counseling sessions to help cope with emotional and psychological distress.

Day Care (Last Friday of the Month): Patients engage in social activities, relaxation therapies, and peer support, fostering a sense of community and belonging.

Continuous Medical Education (CME) (Bi-monthly Mondays): Ongoing training sessions for healthcare workers to enhance knowledge and skills in palliative care practices.

Training on Caregiving and Patient Support (As Sponsored): Providing caregivers with essential skills in handling palliative care patients, with a focus on pediatric care.
