Salary – £16,482 pa (FTE £18,730)
St Barnabas House provides specialist palliative care to adults in the Worthing, Adur, Arun and Henfield areas through a range of services, including in-patient care, Day Hospice and community care.
You will be required to support the Day Hospice team in providing a comfortable, relaxing and welcoming environment in which patients can receive effective therapeutic care and assist the RNs in ensuring the provision of evidence based, individualised specialist palliative nursing care. You will also coordinate the Volunteer Drivers daily rotas, and act as nurse escort, for transporting patients to the day hospice and other hospice services. Part of the role will be to co-ordinate and manage referrals and assist patients in the Day Hospice weekly bathing service.
You will have NVQ level 3 or equivalent and will ideally be able to demonstrate a good insight into palliative care. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills to develop and maintain effective therapeutic relationships with patients and their carers.
