St Christopher’s Centre for Awareness and Response to End of life (CARE) and ehospice are pleased to announce that St Christopher’s CARE has become an official partner of ehospice – working with the UK and Editorial editions.
St Christopher’s CARE is a state-of-the-art community and learning centre based at St Christopher’s Hospice in south east London but whose reach spreads globally.
Through professional learning and community training the centre provides people from all walks of life with the skills and confidence to explore living with dying and bereavement.
The importance of sharing news and information has been core to St Christopher’s since Dame Cicely set up the Hospice Information Service, a direct forerunner of ehospice.
This partnership will enable both organisations to to reach more people and to increase the national and international sharing of learning and celebration of stories which is core to the ethos of both organisations.
To mark the beginning of this partnership ehospice Editorial will be publishing a serialised version of ‘Back to the Future’ – reflections on an oral history of St Christopher’s Hospice which marked the start of the modern hospice movement.
St Christopher’s CARE is the second organisation to partner with ehospice, alongside Compassionate Communities UK who have just agreed to a second year.
Despite, or perhaps because of, the proliferation of websites and social media platforms posting news we see it as more important than ever to strengthen the role of ehospice in pulling together key articles – be they to do with policy, people, organisations, education, research, public health, income generation or care – and making these readily and freely available to everyone everywhere. And, alongside this, to publish thought pieces which challenge our thinking and help us to see the world differently.
We invite you to join us on this journey.
